The Charleston real estate market has taken a turn towards the insane!  We went from a steep seller’s market to the craziest seller’s market we have ever seen.  This is true of most places in the US right now.  Inventory has dropped to levels that no one could have imagined.  Demand remains extremely high due to the exceptionally low mortgage interest rates.  So, a large portion of sellers are getting multiple offers within the first week of listing and many homes are selling for more than list price.  They’re also selling for more than they can appraise for, but the buyers are often making up the difference.  However, the drawback to this is that many sellers do not feel confident that they can find a replacement home.  So, many are not selling.  They’d love to at these prices, but they don’t want to face the other side of the equation and become a buyer.  One possible option is to rent after selling and hope for a downturn. Some people are trying to buy new construction or buy an RV and travel around the country!
As always, we are committed to providing our clients with an unparalleled level of service whether buying or selling a home. We strive to have our clients feel and experience our commitment to them while helping accomplish their real estate goals. That is truly what it is all about! Please let us know how we can help you!
