Just a quick glance at all we have going on in the event calendar will tell you that Charleston is off the hook!! Trivago ranked Wentworth Mansion as the #4 Best 5 Star Hotel in the US. The French Quarter Inn was ranked #1 4 Star Hotel in the US with The Restoration coming in at #4. Travel and Leisure ranked Charleston in the top 20 of most affordable vacations. So, it’s no surprise that 2017 was the busiest year ever in Charleston real estate with almost 18k residential sales. Median sales price was at an all time high of $255k. But the number of transactions was only 3.4% above 2016. It would have been more if we had more homes to sell. Inventory is very low. Median sales price was only up 4.3% over 2016, which is a very sustainable rise. Goose Creek and Summerville saw a lot of increased activity and prices due to the Volvo plant moving in. Mt Pleasant continues to be the most popular suburb with median prices well above $200/sqft. Yeah, more than the temperature will be rising this spring!
